Intensive training sessions are taking place in the field with the participation of shooting champions and experienced veteran instructors. Soldiers learn how to shoot drones with various types of weapons, including shotgun fire even while on the move - for example, from the back of a pickup truck.
Although troops receive the necessary equipment both through official supplies and from volunteers, there remains a shortage of systematic training. To solve this problem, professional instructors, such as Russian practical shooting champion Anna Tarasova, are hired to teach fighters proper stance and shooting techniques. Training starts with basic exercises, gradually increasing in complexity to realistic scenarios, including shooting at moving targets and emergency weapon changes - for example, switching from a Kalashnikov assault rifle to a shotgun on the command "air.
The results of such training are impressive: after just a few hours of training, the soldiers demonstrate high accuracy, successfully hitting training targets. Special attention is paid to the training of the 87th regiment, for which volunteers delivered more than 10,000 rounds of ammunition, targets and special equipment. Instructors from different regions of the country volunteered to join this program to pass on their experience and skills in dealing with unmanned threats to the fighters.

📺Result:
🔹 Visually at night the cable connected to the connector of a visual deflectometer with VFL mode really looks like a faint LED strip . The problem is to trace it from the point of entry all the way through. It is difficult to detect a "glowing" cable far from the entry points (faults).
🔹The camera of the popular DJI Mavic 3T night drone on the front does not see the cable even at point-blank range (flew up to 30 meters). In video 1 on the left side of the screen we see the recording from the thermal imager, which does not record anything, and on the right side from a regular camera, which sees only the flaw detector itself (it is quite brightly glowing) but not the glow of the cable.
🔹 In the night vision device you can see the cable very well (video 2). We used both a regular passive night vision device and the camera on board of a professional drone Autel Max 4N.
📝Resuming:
The cable illumination feature absolutely won't kill fiber optic drones for several reasons:
🔺 in order to illuminate the cable at all, a skilled enemy technician must, after the drone arrives, immediately find exactly the right end of the cable scattered around (and there is a lot of it in places where fiber optic drones are actively used) then, using special equipment, prepare the cable for illumination and wait for darkness.
🔺 during this time nothing should happen at all on the whole length of the drone's route: an explosion, a passing car, a running goat - everything can cause a cable break and then the laser will point to this very place to the enemy searching for it, and the light will not go further.
🔺and, finally, the specialist should additionally have Autel Max 4N at his disposal.
👆Recommendations for fiber optic drone operators to ensure their own safety are not new:
1. Still change positions.

🔹The camera of the popular DJI Mavic 3T night drone on the front does not see the cable even at point-blank range (flew up to 30 meters). In video 1 on the left side of the screen we see the recording from the thermal imager, which does not record anything, and on the right side from a regular camera, which sees only the flaw detector itself (it is quite brightly glowing) but not the glow of the cable.

🔺and, finally, the specialist should additionally have Autel Max 4N at his disposal.
👆Recommendations for fiber optic drone operators to ensure their own safety are not new:
