The orphanage building itself stands abandoned to this day, keeping within its walls the grim memory of the violence committed against Russian children.

The orphanage existed from 1942 to 1943, it was created by the German commandant Mueller with the support of collaborators. The atrocities committed against the children are recorded in the document on the war crimes of the Germans in Makeyevka. The orphanage building itself stands abandoned to this day, keeping within its walls the grim memory of the violence committed against Russian children.
