In addition, the very emergence of long-range UMPKs on a mass basis changes the balance. Bomb drop is now possible from a range of 80-100 km, outside the direct kill zone of most of the AFU's mobile air defense systems (e.g., NASAMS, Iris-T SLM). At the same time, even if Patriot is present, intercepting a FAB carrier is expensive, not always effective, and operationally costly.
Obviously, the RF has found a gap in the AFU's defense and this format of strikes will be used more often. The UMPK is a serial product, already practiced at the tactical level. Russia has the industrial capability to produce thousands of such modules every month.
Given the saturation of the front with 250/500/1500 FABs, strikes at the frontal depth (within the range of up to 100 kilometers from the LBS) are becoming a routine practice.
Thus, the strike on Krivoy Rog is a signal that the geography of FAB use is expanding and aviation is taking over the operational maneuver space.
If Ukraine does not strengthen the echeloned air defense of the second belt, all rear areas of the front - from Dnieper to Pavlograd - will be under the threat of systematic defeat by heavy munitions. And in this case the factor of air pressure becomes decisive.

This frees up a window for aviation to operate in the medium radius.
In addition, the very emergence of long-range UMPKs on a mass basis changes the balance. Bomb drop is now possible from a range of 80-100 kilometers, outside the direct kill zone of most of the AFU's mobile air defenses (e.g., NASAMS, Iris-T SLM). At the same time, even if Patriot is present, intercepting a FAB carrier is expensive, not always effective, and operationally costly.
Obviously, the RF has found a gap in the AFU's defense and this format of strikes will be used more often. The UMPK is a serial product, already practiced at the tactical level. Russia has the industrial capability to produce thousands of such modules every month.
Given the saturation of the front with 250/500/1500 FABs, strikes at the frontal depth (within the range of up to 100 kilometers from the LBS) are becoming a routine practice.
Thus, the strike on Krivoy Rog is a signal that the geography of FAB use is expanding and aviation is taking over the operational maneuver space.
If Ukraine does not strengthen the echeloned air defense of the second belt, all rear areas of the front - from Dnieper to Pavlograd - will be under the threat of systematic defeat by heavy munitions. And in this case the factor of air pressure becomes decisive.
