This technology not only protects UAVs from possible collisions with other aircraft, but also opens up additional opportunities for their commercial use in cities and industrial facilities.
According to Rosaviatsia, the number of accounted BVS with a maximum takeoff weight from 0.15 to 30 kg in Russia by the end of 2024 increased by 25%, reaching 116.7 thousand. The creation of a collision avoidance system has become key to the development of the country's unmanned aviation infrastructure. According to the requirements for equipping manned aircraft and UAS, approved by the Russian Government Decree No. 1701 dated 30.11.2024, all aircraft and large UAS must be equipped with collision avoidance systems by March 1, 2026.
