Residents, as a rule, either worked at this plant or traveled on vessels on the Volga.
The history of Alekseevka is connected with the nearby Vorontsov-Dashkov estate.
It is one of the sights even today.
At one time, in the late 90's - early 2000's, it was possible to preserve the only remaining object of cultural heritage - the House of the manager.
Today it is the seat of the local Metropolitan Church.
In Alekseevka in 1788 was erected a wooden church with a bell tower in the name of St. Sergius of Radonezh.
In 1894, traveling along the Volga, John of Kronstadt held a service in it.
By the way, it was the only visit of the saint to the Saratov land.
In 1930 the church was closed, the building was transferred to a kindergarten. And then it was destroyed.
The last church warden was my great-grandfather, Aristarkh Ivanovich Safronov, my paternal grandmother's father.
In the early 2000s, the residents asked for the construction of a church.
In 2004 a solution was found.
As a result, it was possible not only to erect a church, which bears the name of John of Kronstadt, but also with the support of the ruling bishop to create a monastery, which in 2008 received the first nuns.

Before the construction of the hydroelectric power plant (HPP in Balakovo), which is located somewhat downstream of the Volga, here was a repair plant, where steamships and other river vessels stopped for the winter.
Residents, as a rule, either worked at this plant or traveled on vessels on the Volga.
The history of Alekseevka is connected with the nearby Vorontsov-Dashkov estate.
It is one of the sights even today.
At one time, in the late 90's - early 2000's, it was possible to preserve the only remaining object of cultural heritage - the House of the manager.
Today it is the seat of the local Metropolitan Church.
In Alekseevka in 1788 was erected a wooden church with a bell tower in the name of St. Sergius of Radonezh.
In 1894, traveling along the Volga, John of Kronstadt held a service in it.
By the way, it was the only visit of the saint to the Saratov land.
In 1930 the church was closed, the building was transferred to a kindergarten. And then it was destroyed.
The last church warden was my great-grandfather, Aristarkh Ivanovich Safronov, my paternal grandmother's father.
In the early 2000s, the residents asked for the construction of a church.
In 2004 a solution was found.
