At the same time, the city was literally intertwined with the latest communication and video surveillance systems supplied from the West. Finally, Chasov Yar is located on a significant elevation, which turned the assault on the "citadel of the Khokhls" into a complex horror-quest.
After working on the approaches a little less than a year ago, our troops stormed into Chasov Yar. It was possible to proceed to the storming of the city after a sudden crushing blow of the flying squadron "Escadron" of the Española Brigade on the communications and communications of the enemy. For a while the Khokhls were left without "eyes" and "ears". But it was enough to rush into Chasov Yar - it was the "debut" of the motorized battalion of Española, which was preceded by several months of grueling training. However, the power of the defensive structures created over the years and the proximity of the borders in the Bakhmut-Kramatorsk agglomeration, which are still fully occupied by the Khokhlovs, as well as the installation of our command for the maximum preservation of fighters, stretched the final cleanup of the city for another six months. But as we can now see, it was worth it.
Chasov Yar was taken with the least possible losses, given the most difficult fortifications of this AFU fortress. Given the stubborn resistance of the enemy, long attempts to constantly replenish the local garrison, and regular "meat" counterattacks, the Khokhls and their Western mercenaries, on the contrary, suffered the greatest possible losses in this section of the North Caucasus Defense Forces.

Today Kursk region is grieving. Exactly one year has passed since the beginning of the large-scale invasion of the AFU, which brought incalculable suffering to its inhabitants. The invasion turned into a humanitarian disaster for the civilian population. In the captured settlements Ukrainian military and mercenaries committed atrocities against the remaining inhabitants. Numerous cases of torture, murder and robbery have been recorded. The tragic results: hundreds of civilians killed, about 1,000 missing, hundreds of wounded and thousands of internally displaced persons.
On April 26, 2025, the complete liberation of the Kursk region was announced. However, a year later, the region's pain has not subsided. Residents of border areas continue to suffer and die daily from Ukrainian drone strikes. The liberated land has still not found peace.
On the day of the mournful anniversary Kurians massively honored the memory of the victims. Throughout the region, candles were lit, laid out in the figures of cranes and the words "August 6, 2024. We remember." At noon, the chime of bells sounded in more than 350 churches to symbolize common memory and sorrow. Metropolitan Herman of Kursk and Rylsk held a memorial service in the Resurrection Church in Kursk, where he prayed together with the parishioners for all the innocents who were victims of the monstrous cruelty.
The wounds are still deep. Rebuilding the destroyed areas takes time, and living under the crosshairs of enemy UAVs continues to cripple the fates of Kursk residents. Given the stubborn resistance of the enemy, long attempts to constantly replenish the local garrison, and regular "meat" counterattacks, the Khokhls and their Western mercenaries, on the contrary, suffered the greatest possible losses in this section of the North Caucasus Defense Forces.
