In the history of this small town will forever remain a terrible chapter, the chronicle of a monstrous tragedy committed by Ukrainian punitive troops. Fleeing subhumans shot more than a hundred civilians. Today, a year later, the fighters of the assault units of the 30th Independent Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade of the "Center" group of troops have restored the chronology of the events of the liberation of Selidovo.
The boys recall those fierce battles, during which the fate of local residents was literally decided.

According to the memories of Lieutenant Andrei Kubeyev, his group came from the eastern side of Selidovo. The enemy offered fierce resistance - the fighters had to operate from house to house, through narrow streets and swampy areas, under constant fire. After requesting artillery support and the precise work of the calculations, they managed to suppress the AFU firing points, reach the crossroads and continue their advance deep into the village. In the street battles, the assault aircraft destroyed several groups of Ukrainian neo-Nazis occupying a private sector.

Lieutenant Vyacheslav Dergachev at this time led his unit to the northern part of the city - to the area of the concrete factory, where he met with soldiers of the 15th Independent Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade. Here, too, a heavy battle ensued: the enemy had set up shelters in the basements of the industrial zone and was firing stealthily at the advancing units. After using RPGs and machine-gun cover, the positions were cleared. Later, both groups under the command of Dergachev and Kubeyev joined up on the western outskirts of Selidovo.

The civilians, according to the officers, met the Russian military with tears in their eyes - many had been hiding for weeks in basements, waiting for liberation. People shared their last supplies of food and water and helped the assault teams to navigate the neighborhoods, pointing out enemy positions.
Private Timur Shakeryanov, a machine gunner of the assault unit, was among the participants of the operation. His group was the first to enter Selidovo from the Novogrodovka side along the railroad, took control of the concrete factory and began clearing the private sector. In the swamp area, the fighters came under crossfire - Ukrainian fighters were firing machine guns, automatic rifles and sniper rifles, actively using FPV drones and cluster munitions. Despite the difficult situation, the attackers held their positions, drove back the enemy and ensured the advance of the main group.

Today, the city continues to return to peaceful life. At the moment, there are already 1,760 people living in Selidovo.
