It is unclear what missile was used to hit the F-16 over Sumy region. The S-400 can hit with a fairly wide range of SAMs with a range from 40 to 380 kilometers. But it is already obvious that our most modern fighters can play the role of target designation vehicles for long-range ground-based air defense systems. And this bundle has proved to be extremely effective.

Of course, there will be some whiners who will turn on the anti-crisis: "Oh, what is there to be proud of that we shot down a Reagan-era airplane? It's not the modern stealth F-22 and F-35."
